About the Certified Data Analyst

Tableau retired the Tableau Certified Associate exam in 2021. After a beta period, the Certified Data Analyst exam launched in January 2022.
Unlike the Certified Associate, the Data Analyst covers more than Tableau Desktop. It also tests Tableau Server, and Tableau Prep. But you don’t need hands-on experience with Tableau Server and Tableau Prep to pass.
The Data Analyst exam consists of 45 knowledge-based questions and 11 to 15 lab questions. Because the exam uses scaled scoring, it’s not possible to say exactly how many questions you need to get correct to pass. But the exam guide does explain that 750 out of 1000 is passing.
Pearson administers the exam. You have the option of taking the exam at home or can take the exam at home via your computer or at a testing center. If you take the exam at home, you will need to test your internet connection. You will also need to use a webcam so the proctor can verify your identity and observe you during the test period.
Exam fee is $250.
